The information delivery cycle is a structured process for sharing and managing information throughout a project to ensure everyone has the right data in the right format when needed. According to I.S. EN ISO 19650, the information delivery cycle can be broken down into the following steps.

  1. The client defines what information they need at the start and why.

  2. The suppliers (designers and contractors) explain how they will provide this information and show their expertise.

  3. All parties work together to determine roles, plans, and training.

  4. They determine how much information is needed at each stage and how to verify it.

  5. They utilize technology and processes to manage and produce this information.

  6. Finally, they ensure the information is handed over to enable effective operation and maintenance of the asset.
